Do you want to be able to dynamically expand and collapse the pages list? Or just have it always collapsed so it displays only the top level? You will have to go the admin panel to do that. If you wish, you can add this as a feature request (http://ahrencode.16bugs.com) for the next release. The empty orange box should really say "reply". If you give me your blog URL I can check it out and see why its empty.
